Watched, Visited and Started in May
Summer, or as I prefer to call it ‘Caftan season’ is almost upon us and I visited, watched and started some interesting and challenging things including running!? I know, I know, but actually think I might even be enjoying it. Anyway, here is what I got up to in May.
VISIT
Finally got back to my (very) happy place, The Ceramics Studio in Brenchley, Kent….I do a hand building class with Helen Rondell, an incredibly talented - and patient - teacher (pictured is one of her pieces.. )
I get so much out of just playing around with clay…it’s such a joyful experience and makes me feel very ‘present’ and I just love it. If you’ve ever fancied giving it a go - DO IT! You won’t regret it. Though you may need to put up some more shelves….
WATCH
Fashion Reimagined; a documentary film that follows Amy Powney, designer for Mother of Pearl and her struggle to produce a truly ethical and sustainable collection.
She does a great job of gently and convincingly persuading us why we should all care more about the clothes we wear; how they come to life, the origins of the raw materials used…... Fascinating and essential viewing for anyone who loves fashion and clothes.
